2007 YEAR IN REVIEW

SO MUCH HAPPENED IN 2007!!!!!

The Howard County Antique Farm Machinery Club celebrated its 12th year with a multitude of activities. The standard activities took place; the Annual Consignment Sale at the Howard County Fair Grounds, The Spring Horse and Mule Field day, The Annual Wheat Cutting, Club field trips, The Farm Heritage School Days, and the Annual Farm Heritage Days. All this along with major construction on the Living Farm Heritage Museum.

We were very happy to start the construction of our Main Display Building. The Structure is a 100x200 foot pole building with a 80x200 open display arena and 20x200 finished display and administrative spaces. The Building is being dedicated in honor of the late Maryland State Senator James Clark Jr. Senator Clark was a charter member of the Howard County Antique Farm Machinery Club, Inc. (AFMC) and is widely credited for his activities in state wide farm preservation. He was a good friend and active member of the AFMC and we are honored to dedicate this large display building as a tribute to Jim and his many accomplishments.

Some other exciting activities that took place this year was also associated with the Howard County Living Farm Heritage Museum's construction projects. The One Room school house is now open for tours and visits. We also placed the first of many displays in the Dairy Barn this year. We were happy to conduct sawing demonstrations with our saw mill for the first time this year.

Also this year we were pleased to hold our  12th Annual Farm Heritage Days, at the Living Farm Heritage Museum for the third year running .

The entire club is very excited about the Museum's development and have been working like crazy on a number of projects. There are a number of projects still being worked on in 2008. Check out our 2008 Goals link for an update.

Take a look at some of the photos taken during our many activities this past year...
