Subject: Craftsmen 6HP Rider Mover Information Request

Hi, How is everyone? This is Todd from Richmond, VA; club member and wagon ride driver for the 2004 Farm Heritage Days! I had another great time at Farm Heritage Days and look forward to driving in 2005 as well! Beginning in February I'll be restoring an old Craftsmen 6 HP rider. The engine is mounted on teh deck, not under the hood and is pull-start. The gears are in a cardboard box that nees to be assmebles. Its chain driven. If there are any club members that know about Sears Equipment and how to find out what year it is, you can e-mail or IM me.

Thanks for your support, Tod Taylor, Richmond, Virginia (Tractorboy250@aol.com)

My name is Nancy Miley and my husband and I have what we think is a BF Avery R, I was trying to view     the article that was associated with your site by John Frank and were unsuccessful in downloading it          to view.  Is there any way to get a copy of it or info on the BF Averys after purchase by MM.  Any info would be appreciated.  Thank                                                                                                                           you                                                                                                                                                     Nancy          ww0514@dragonbbs.com

Subject: Corn Chipper    10/22/2006                                                                                                   Good evening:  I have uncovered a very old Corn Chipper for making and
blowing silage into a silo.  It is in great shape, is belt driven by a
tractor. Even the wooden spindle for the belt is in excellent condition.
The only markings on this piece of equipment is the word "BLIZZARD"
and Canton, Ohio. I was wondering if anyone has heard of it or knows who may have
produced it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

SUBJECT: MUSEUM INFO:   10/25006                                                                                             Greetings from Nebraska!  Are you familiar with the Tractor Test Museum located on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus?  This Museum is located in the world's first Tractor Testing Laboratory built in 1920 and named after a well respected Nebraska Tractor Test Engineer, Lester Larsen.  This Museum strives to share the history of tractor development and the influence of the world famous Nebraska Tractor Tests.
I am writing to encourage you and others to help me, Jeremy Steele, Museum Development Associate, to spread the word about this great Museum.  Our collection consists of nearly 40 tractors tracing developments in power, safety, and innovation.  We also have the World's most complete and comprehensive collection of tractor manuals and advertising literature.  This library consists of nearly 2,000 folders of information about every tractor tested at the University of Nebraska since 1920.  It is our goals to make this collection available on-line and searchable to all members or Friends of this Museum in the near future. We are on our way to become a National Resource Center for Antique Tractor Restoration that will be utilized and appreciated by collectors around the world.  We have a long ways to go and the pace of our development will be determined by the resources we acquire from individuals and clubs located around the country that value agricultural history and support this Museum.  We invite you and others to join us on this journey by first becoming a E-Friend of the Tractor Test Museum.  As a E-Friend, you will be able to provide our Museum with ideas and direction towards its development.  E-Friends will create a network of individuals and resources located across the nation and around the world I can utilize throughout this museum development process.  Best of all, becoming involved with this network as an E-Friend is absolutely free.  Simply reply back with the subject E-Friend and you will officially become a TractorTest Museum E-Friend.  Please email or call 1-402-472-8389 and I will share with you more information about this great museum and how you can become more involved or how you can make a contribution towards the Museum's development.   Please visit http://tractormuseum.unl.edu.  This email has provided you with an opportunity  to become acquainted with this Museum and to join with others as we promote and develop this Museum together. What we have is a great part of America's History and together we are striving to ensure that it becomes a resource to available all, near or far!

Hi,
I just purchased a property in the north Carolina mountains that was originally a farm many years ago. Planting a garden I found a pieceof what I assume is from an old farm machine. The piece is about 18 inches long but no one has been able to identify it. Perhaps youcan help. Attached is a picture of the piece.
Many thanks,

Subject: corn shucker
I live in HoCo and have a corn shucker.  I am sending this email of inquiry if anyone connected with this Howard County group could provide further information on it.  It is a free-standing corn shucker with a slide tray and the following information on its side.  Champion, Mt.Ville Mfg.,  Mt.Ville, Pa. Pat. Apr. 5, 1892.
I have been unable to locate a MountainVille in Pennsylvania.
Is this a commonly occurring corn shucker?  The paint is peeling and it is completely intact~is it worth repainting?  Is it worth keeping?    jwneal@comcast.net
